This thread IS designed to discuss REASONS, and STANDINGS among how the characters should be ranked.

where did you get this information? i disagree with practically everything here. take a look at smashboards' tier list sometime.

Many people disagree on this but it's true. Once before a guy named work told a bunch of people that "stop saying this character deserves better, experts with this game (much better than you and I) have tested this and made this tier list." I can't remeber exactly what he siad but he siad someting on the lines like that. Altough I want to prove that PT should be higher..but I have along way to go before that happens.

Basically yep. IMO He's easy to use and easy to spam with though it depends on the user. =o

well there ARE plenty of good options to choose from. falco, snake, marth, diddy and a couple of others are on the rise, but meta is just plain *** broken in terms of the recent metagame.

i believe people who use meta are insecure with their ability to use a lower tier character and in a reality are not good at the game

or they're playing for money and want to win, which is a perfectly legitamte reason to use a good character that's available to them.

but i give props to anybody that plays lower tier characters. just because i play marth/falco/G&W and mostly top tier characters doesn't mean that i can't have some fun with characters like ganon.

Yeah I like using ness/lucas and their really low!

****, i use most everybody and if you ask me a couple of those really low tier characters could stand to go up a bit. the only problem with ness/lucas is that grab release lag, they're simply screwed.

I use Pokemon Trainer I believe he should be higher but...
Anyways heres my reason.

He as three different weight at his disposal.
Squirtle Pros (Light Wieght)
Agile,Quick
Fast attacks
Cons
Smash attacks and regular attacks aren't very powerful (the only exception is his USmash ^_^)
Easy to fling off stage LoL
Charizard Pros (Heavy Weight)
Strong Attacks and Smashes (Gottta love the L and R Smash)
Good recovery (if you know hoew to use it)
Not easily knocked off
Cons
Slow
Some attack/smashes take a little time to pull off
Ivy Pros (Meduim Weight)
Good Attack speed and moverment (not to fast not to slow)
Teather Save
Cons
Teather Save can be edgehoged
I can't think of any more >_>
